Network Administrator
Starting Salary Range: $48,000 - $69,000
Dependent on experience and education
Position Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday – Friday
Position Summary
Position involves technical work of supporting the design, maintenance, deployment, and optimization of McLean County’s computer network infrastructure. Work is reviewed by the Director of Information Technologies for adherence to guidelines and program results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to design, maintain, configure, and optimize McLean County’s networking hardware and software systems, including but not limited to: switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, physical security systems, network security systems, internet service providers, cloud providers, network storage, and network servers.
- Perform research on network products, services, protocols, and industry standards in support of organizational objectives.
- Diagnoses problems with network hardware and software and performs repairs and upgrades when required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully with officials, departments, and co-workers.
- Works well with help desk, network security, and network infrastructure personnel.
- Performs according to established procedures, technical guidelines, and state laws.
- Performs related work as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED Certificate.
- 3+ years work experience in professional IT environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA certification or equivalent work experience
- Experience with HPE Aruba networking solutions including switches, routers, Mobility Master, and Clearpass.
